Postnatal Care
Sophie works with new mums and not so new mums to support them post birth and in the years following. Whether you have just had a baby or are now a few years down the track and taking care of a toddler it can be hard to focus on your health and often women will run on empty for many years before they realise the toll its taking on their body.
Postnatal depletion is a condition characterised by physical and emotional exhaustion which is generally a result of hormonal changes, nutritional insufficiency, sleep deprivation, further compounded by the mental and emotional challenges that come with being a mother.

"There is little if any support out there for mothers and the physical impact of bearing and raising children. I myself really struggled with my energy and stress levels for a couple of years after my son turned 2. I think we expect to be back to normal by then but it's often not the case as its at this time we start to take on more whether it be with work or perhaps having another child. This is generally the time I see women start to crash and where nutritional support can really help to turn things around."

I work with mothers to provide:
-
Postpartum healing support.
-
Nutritional support for breastfeeding.
-
Nutritional guidance for addressing nutrient levels.
-
Nervous system support to reduce stress and anxiety.
-
Reduce fatigue and regain energy levels.
-
Regain hormonal balance.
-
Regulate menstrual cycles.
-
Improve libido.
-
Thyroid hormone balance.
-
Gut health support.
-
Dietary advice for healthy weight management.
-
Early childhood nutrition, including weaning and managing common baby symptoms like colic, reflux and allergies.
The Process
First steps:
Once booked in you will need to complete a diet diary and online questionnaire including a full body systems review in advance of your first appointment. If you need support for your child we will discuss in more detail during your discovery call whether a separate consult is required.

Initial Consultation:
This is where Sophie takes a deep dive into any findings in your questionnaire in order to build a detailed case history and gain an in-depth understanding of any underlying issues that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Functional Tests:
Blood tests for new mums are really helpful to assess nutrient levels. Sophie will collaborate with your GP to assess bloods where possible. Further and more in-depth testing is often required in cases on postnatal depletion and the Health and Hormone Reset package is a great way to get you feeling energised in the shortest space of time.
Follow Up:
4 weekly follow ups are ideal to ensure that your progress is being monitored and that you feel supported through the process. During these consultations dietary and supplement protocols are updated, test results are reviewed. Often Sophie can include any updates on your child's health in your follow up consult.

Generally a minimum of 3 follow-ups are required to get you on track. Subsequent catch ups following this may not need to be as frequent depending on your individual case.
